Job Description: The role of Purchasing Director is mostly responsible for assisting with the President of the company in the overall management of the purchasing procedures and strategies of the company, in particular:

 

  1. Planning and evaluating the purchasing policies, plans and strategies for the company;
  2. Planning, organizing and directing the purchasing policies, procedures and activities of the purchasing agents;
  3. Instructing the team to source for new and alternative suppliers and vendors, and conduct products tests;
  4. Managing and evaluating cost and quality of goods and services for contract negotiations and executions;
  5. Representing the company to negotiate with the potential key suppliers and sign off the purchasing agreement;
  6. Evaluating the current suppliers and vendors; establishing and maintaining a supplier performance evaluation system; developing and maintaining working relations with suppliers and other relevant third parties;
  7. Reporting directly to the President on the process of business negotiation, terms and conditions of the prospective purchasing contracts, cost effective solutions and other recommendations;
  8. Logistics management of the delivery of raw materials and finished goods from the suppliers;
  9. Supervising the compliance with customs clearance rules and regulations on import of goods;
  10. Supervising the job performance, competence and capacities of team members; and
  11. Conducting interviews, hiring and firing team members.

 

Qualification and Requirements:

 

  • A Bachelor Degree in business, business administration, or commerce is required;
  • 6+ year Purchasing Manager experience in seafood or food purchasing business;
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Basic English communication skills;
  • Fluent in Mandarin and Russian;
  • Availability to take business trips;
  • Knowledge of seafood cultivation and production industry is an asset.¿

 

Compensation:

 

  • annual wage between $100,000-$120,000 depends on experiences and seniority; and
  • bonus is available depends on job performance.
